2018 Lincoln Navigator

Major revisions or redesigns to vehicle engineering within a generation are uncommon, although improvements happen as each year new models are introduced. New car, truck, or SUV generations signal that the auto manufacturer has stepped up their game, bringing their customers the best possible engineering, interior features, and technology. With the introduction of the brand-new generation 2018 Lincoln Navigator, customers can expect that the Navigator will deliver better than ever.

New Engineering Changes

Changes to the 2018 Lincoln Navigator are with the transmission and the engine. In an effort to improve fuel economy, instead of a six-speed automatic, the 2018 Navigator will have a ten-speed automatic transmission. The twin-turbo V-6 engine is the same but is now able to produce 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft. of torque. This is 70 more horsepower and 40 more torque than the current 2017 Navigator.

These improvements are in addition to the new all aluminum frame, which reduces the Navigator's total weight by 200 pounds. Since the 2018 model is sleeker and sits higher than the 2017 model, the weight reduction means that the fuel economy is much better.

How Does The Interior Differ?

There are so many interior improvements that even current Lincoln Navigator owners might consider upgrading to the 2018 model. The entire center console has been redesigned, featuring toggle switches for gear shifting instead of the traditional shifter. This gives the driver and front passenger more room for the important things: cell phones and favorite beverage choice. Another great feature is the Perfect Position Seats, which are Lincoln's premier massaging seats that adjust 30 different ways to contour to your perfect shape. The seats are also heated, cooled, and massaging as well!

What Technology Upgrades Does The 2018 Lincoln Navigator Have?

Lincoln has always offered technology that is truly luxurious, but in the 2018 Navigator, there is so much to love that even the most tech-savvy passengers will be able to spend those long drives completely entertained.

Up front, the newest SYNC 3 infotainment system is delivered through a 12-inch screen that sits directly on the dashboard, but won't interfere with the driver's range of vision. Available Apple CarPlay or Android Auto syncs directly with your SYNC 3 for an all-around experience. If you are the rear passengers, enjoy multiple media types like Sling Media television, on the 10-inch screens built into the front seat for your viewing pleasure. With the Bridge of Weir leather seating, lots of leg room, and the screens, even short car rides become an experience to look forward to every day.

Optional technology that only improves the Navigator's safety is a 360-degree camera for those tight spots where the 2018 Navigator is just a little too big to fit in comfortably, a Trailer Backup Assist for those long hauls, and adaptive cruise control.
